What does a state park mean to you?
Montana State Parks promises to manage significant, relevant, and accessible parks for Montanans and our out-of-state visitors. In order to do this, we must critically look at our park system, and prioritize the most important sites and experiences first. That way we can better balance our current and future needs, and provide better services and opportunities that truly meet your expectation of what a state park should be.
Montana State Parks & Recreation Strategic Plan
The 2015-2020 Strategic Plan looks at our state parks and recreation programs over the next five years. Under the guidance of the Montana State Parks & Recreation Board, the plan presents a fresh and innovative approach, and identifies key metrics that will make us the strongest park system in the country.
Building a thriving 21st century state park system will require us to address longstanding challenges with an innovative and business-minded management approach. We must maximize available resources, expand our partnerships, and build engagement to spur reinvestment and recommitment to the outstanding resources that make up our system.
Together, we can be more than the sum of our parts.
